She also disagrees with this idea. The main industry in Apollon is tourism. If we close the border, we can't maintain the economy. She is also worried about the impact on people who work abroad.

She agrees with this idea because we should not bring the virus into the country. She has to save lifes of residents as a nurse.

I agree with the idea because we have to have a priority on our lives than anything. Even if the Apollon's economy and our standard of living go bad, they can be repaired later, but our lives will not come back.

She also agrees with the idea. We must prevent infection, so we should close the border until the vaccine is developed.

→ Anne answered this question. She is going to close it until vaccine will be invented.
2. If Apollon people in outside of Apollon want to come back to our country, can they enter? (Lauren)
→ Skipper answered they can enter Apollon if they take a test to check whether they have a virus, and then they don't have it.
3. How dangerouse is the virus? (Erinn)
→ Bella said that the new virus can cause death. But the infection can be prevented to some extent by taking measures such as hand washing, gargling, and disinfection.
4. If we can prevent the infevtion by doing them, we don't have to close the border.
→ Anne answered that not everyone will take action, so it's safer to close the border before the virus is introduced into the country.
5. We debated whether to block the border with the same infection last year, but in the end we didn't. But there was no problem, so why not do it? (Rober)
→ Bella said this was new virus, and Heather answered it was found last month.
6. Can Apollon make a profit by selling the ticket? (Kaitlyn)
→ Bella answerd this question. Many tourists are expected to come after the border opens. And there is no problem because shopping and sightseeing should generate more profits.
7. Isn't it only necessary to limit the movement of people? (Peter)
→ Skipper told him that closing border means to limit only people, do not limit logistics.
8. If a qualified student can study abroad, isn't it okay to go to someone who works abroad?(Lily)
→ Vennie agreed that opinion.
9. What about tourists in Apollo now? (Ghosn)
→ Anne answerd that we have three days by closing the border, so in the meantime, get them back.
10. Can students go on a school trip? (Nancy)
→ Vinne answerd if they take tests and don't have the virus, they can go on a trip. Similarly,they must take the test when they come back.

We can't reach the consensus.
My Opinion
I'm so frustrated because we can't reach the consensus. We should have informed everyone in advance about the virus and present condition. I feel it's very difficult to have a debate that does not create confusion and contradiction. In the next discussion, I will give my opinion after I have enough knowledge on the topic.
As you say, you should have elaborated on the virus in advance. Many people, like me, misunderstood that the virus that occurred two years ago and the virus we were talking about in this discussion were the same virus. But you were very good because you were quick to come up with new ideas and speak up to your audience's questions.

If you add more details in your opinion, your statement will be better and stronger. I am looking forward to your second discussion! Your work was good!
返信削除I thought you gave others interesting ideas about Vinnie's movie and tickets. They are convincing for me. However, I wish you had made your first statement more concrete. If you do so in the next discussion, you will have more persuasive power when you suggest something.

During the question and answer session, there may have been a misunderstanding between the discussion members and the audience about the ticketing system. You should calm down a little more and understand the questions from the audience before answering them. This will make the discussion go more smoothly.

However, it seems that there were some opinions that you were about to say during the course of the discussion. I think it would have been better if you hadn't stopped in the middle, but had recognized and re-stated them again. I think the meeting would have been better if you had spoken up with confidence because you had very good opinions.
